The Dictators NYC – European tour starts July 31 2016!

We have some wonderful news for you. THE DICTATORS NYC just don’t get enough! They will be back touring in Europe in summer again. THE DICTATORS from New York City! Founded in 1973 in New York City, the band is THE prepunk band just right after New York Dolls and before the Ramones. Their debut record „Go Girl Crazy“ got released in 1975.
But after only three albums the band came to an end in the late 1970s. They reformed here and then and to everybody’s surprise released their masterpiece album “DFFD“ in 2011, which includes one of their most famous songs “Who will save RocknRoll“.
After a few important line up changes over the past few years, the band felt obliged, historically and as a courtesy to members who either couldn’t or didn’t want to play, to have a slight differentiation name wise between the first wave and the latest incarnation of THE DICTATORS. So was born: THE DICTATORS NYC!!
Since 2013 Handsome Dick Manitoba (vocals), Ross The Boss (guitar), JP “Thunderbolt” Patterson (drums), Daniel Rey (guitar) and Dean Rispler (bass guitar) keep going steady and have even been touring whole Europe, for the first time in decades.
In November 2015 their first new single „Supply and demand“ was released and sold out within weeks. A re-release of this single, this time in red vinyl (Otis Rec), is now available HERE or at the shows of the upcoming tour!
