TV SMITH & THE BORED TEENAGERS (GB/ESP)

There is little need to introduce TV Smith; he has been performing on stages around the world for nearly 50 years. Yet, he is far from finished.

In March 2027, TV Smith’s Catalan backing band, “The Bored Teenagers,” will travel from Barcelona to Germany for a short tour. Although TV Smith is primarily known as a solo artist these days, he still plays a select number of concerts accompanied by a full band.

He first met the musicians in 2003, when bassist BB Quattro invited him to Spain for a series of shows with his own pop-punk band, “Suzy & Los Quattro.” Performing under the new name “The Bored Teenagers,” the band backed TV during the encores of several concerts; on a day off from touring, they headed to the studio together to record the single “What If? / New Church,” which was released in Spain on the “No Future” label.

As avowed fans of “The Adverts,” the band subsequently learned the group’s entire album, *Crossing the Red Sea*, and performed it in its entirety at London’s renowned “100 Club” in 2007 to mark TV Smith’s 50th birthday. Since then, TV Smith and the band have toured regularly across Europe and made numerous appearances on the main stage of the annual “Rebellion Festival” in Blackpool.

In 2022 — after electrifying a wildly enthusiastic, capacity crowd — they made a spontaneous visit to a local studio. There, they recorded the songs exactly as they had just performed them on stage: no frills, no pauses, and no overdubs—capturing the full energy and tension of the live show in a single, magnificent take. The resulting album, titled *TV Smith & The Bored Teenagers Replay The Adverts*, was released on the “Easy Action” label. By now, the band’s repertoire encompasses all the songs by The Adverts as well as many of TV Smith’s later recordings; their live set has evolved into a blend of both—delivered with the energy and intensity for which they have become renowned.

And in March 2027, the time has come: TV Smith and the Bored Teenagers are coming to Germany for a tour.
