Tim V’s SHAM 69 – on tour in December

Now in 2018 the band find themselves doing another European Tour. The band released their last album IT’LL END IN TEARS in 2015 along with their new film THIS BAND IS SO GORGEOUS about the bands successful tour of China, which has been premiered around the world at various film festivals and continues to do so.
The band which was formed in 1975, with hits such as BORSTAL BREAKOUT and HEY LITTLE RICH BOY being performed in 76-77, the band went on to have others such as HURRY UP HARRY, ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES and the anthem IF THE KIDS ARE UNITED.

The band had many line up changes but the most notable was Jimmy Pursey’s departure following his sacking in 2006, in which he was immediately replaced by the now vocalist Tim V.
The band currently features along with Tim V, the bands longest serving drummer at 30 years behind the kit for SHAM 69.. Ian Whitewood. On Lead Guitar we have Al Campbell who joined the band in 2009, he has a pristine pedigree in Punk after serving 13 years with UK SUBS and playing with both Marky Ramone and Jayne County and the Electric Chairs. On the Bass guitar we have John Woodward who was a feature on Bass in the Mod band Long Tall Shorty as well as the known Oi band The Gonads.
So this is SHAM 69 now and though many have scoffed at their existence they have come to regret it having been overwhelmed by the power of the performance.

HEAVYBALL (UK) – new tone on the road

Heavyball are a self titled “new tone” 4 piece band originally from Nottingham; formed in 2011. They describe their sound as ‘new tone’, a modern interpretation of two tone and ska.
Influences include Viz, Shane Meadows and the story writing traditions of country and western.
Their second album „When Can You Start?“ was released November 1st 2017. It recounts a week in the life of an ordinary office worker. The diary of a nobody who represents everybody. He doesn’t know it, but this week is different. Because this week is his last on earth. Storytelling, humour and everyday observations wrapped up in sharp melodies.
„When Can You Start?“ is a story of the very ordinary told differently. Upbeat, uplifting, a hint of melancholy– this is Heavyball!
Heavyball’s recordings have been championed by BBC6 Music DJs Chris Hawkins and Tom Robinson, BBC London’s Gary Crowley, BBC Ulster’s late Gerry Anderson, Absolute Radio’s Frank Skinner, BBC Introducing’s Dean Jackson and a personal endorsement from Jimmy Somerville for their unique interpretation of the classic 80s hit Smalltown Boy.

FUZZY VOX – rocking around Europe

fuzzy-voxFuzzy Vox are a hook-heavy trio who’d easily pass for The Hives’ s younger French cousins. While there’s no doubt about the influence of garage-rock greats, their songs are full of the swinging beat of boogie-woogie and the boom of rockabilly bass. There’s street-punk gang vocals too, and even a few moody, heavy-rock numbers. The band is pushing a kind of power pop that’s heartfelt, but endearingly immature.
-No Landing Plan-, the latest Fuzzy Vox record, now out on Kidnap Records, is the american cruising life revisited, a teen baby-boomer way on a friday night on a low rider trip. Kids travelling from flipper to milk shake with the only hope to get laid and have a cool tune poping up on the radio. Garage Rock and Roll ahead of the time before punk and power pop. Blue-Eyed Soul when the radios were still segregationists.
The Fuzzy Vox as nobody would expect from a french power trio get their roots from the deep magic noise exactly where the youth, the fashion, the manners seem timeless and never change with no ending.
And now its time to send the band out to your favourite venue to get YOU going! Don’t miss these lovely boys at a town near you!
